Rayovac 2D LED Flashlight

This light was brighter than expected. It was purchased in October 2015 at a Walmart for $3 on clearance. Two “D” batteries were included in the retail blister pack. The business end has five separate LEDs, and it looks like each is set in a curved, highly reflective focussing arrangement.

It has a plastic body; red and blue flashlight body colors were available.

The beam has a bright center, with a decent amount of flood area around it.

The ON/OFF switch is a button placed in the traditional location. The body is half-covered in rubber, making it easy to grip. The head also has this rubber on the end, so it can be set vertically on a table or desk with no significant concern about denting or scratching the surface. The tail end is rounded, so it will not tail-stand.

The tail end has a wrist lanyard attached. This could be useful when working on something that might require the use of both hands. Of course, the lanyard could be used to hang the light on something, for storing it where it can be easily found and not lost. Or hang it on something while working. Or hang it from a tree branch while camping.

Rayovac LED Penlight

Penlights are handy things, they can fit in a shirt pocket without weighing it down or looking way out of place. It can be stored in a desk drawer with the pens and pencils without being too noticeable.

The Rayovac led penlight uses one AAA battery. An alkaline battery is mentioned on the package. When purchased at Walmart, a battery was included in the retail blister pack.

The beam is more of a spot than a flood.

The packaging lists the performance as

3 lumens

5.5 hours
