(dollar store) 1-LED Mini Flashlight
This light closely resembles the Ozark Trail 9-LED Mini Flashlight (sold at Walmart), but it only has one led. And it is much brighter!
It is available in several colors, and comes with three AAA batteries already in the light. There was a tray of lights to choose from - no individual packaging.

Eveready 1-D flashlight, LED
one-D flashlight, LED
This handy LED flashlight uses one D-cell battery.
The Eveready two-flashlight pack was purchased at Walmart, and two old-style batteries were included. They were not labeled as alkaline batteries, so they probably were not.
It has a clickie switch, which works well. The head unscrews to allow loading the single battery.
The difference in weight compared to two-D flashlights is noticeable. Made of plastic, the light is shorter, too. More compact and lighter weight. It was available in red and blue colors.
The tail end is flat, so the light is easy to tailstand. That is useful when the flashlight is used to provide light for a room.
The light is cheap and useful, and would make a nice extra “give away” light in the car, in case you come upon a situation where someone needs a light, but doesn’t have one.
Nice inexpensive torch.

Ozark Trail 9-LED Mini Flashlight
Ozark Trail 9-LED Mini Flashlight
Purchased at Walmart for $1. Uses three AAA batteries, and batteries are included. Plastic body. Has a lanyard attached. Activated by a clicky button on the end of the light. Available in six different colors. The three batteries are held by a plastic battery holder, which easily slides out of the flashlight body.
Note that the batteries are already installed when the light is purchased - it does not come in a package. When the light is first opened (by unscrewing the end cap), there is a round, transparent piece of plastic on top of the battery holder. This piece of plastic keeps the light from operating. It blocks the battery contacts from “contacting” during storage. Remove this piece of plastic and replace the end cap. Then light up!
